ok....I think I am a pretty good shot....but two things make me wonder if I have unavoidable limitations....
1.) I am farsighted and with bifocals now that I am 56.....however, when I was in the service as a young man I could see things in the distance clearly that others couldn't even see....was a good tool then....but my opthamologist told me years ago that I would eventually put glasses on full time due to the type of eye I had....he was right....
2.) I am naturally right handed....do everything right handed, always have....batted rightie, throw rightie....however, I am left eye dominate.....so has an effect on my golf game for sure especially on the greens....
BUT....here is the issue...I buy great optics for my rifles....Leupold good stuff....optically corrected for parallax.....however, even with the good stuff, I tend to see the crosshair move when I move my head position....when I pay very strict attention to the discipline of setting up very tightly and directly behind the scope I am fine...however any slight deviation from tight and directly behind tends to move my image....so I am thinking that my glasses have a lot to do with this....
I can shot very tight groups with the .223 and the .22 .... I am used to .25 groups from the .223 at 100yds & a large hole, albeit usually inside .25 at 50 yards with the .22
The issue I am thinking about is whether my eyesight is really going to affect my ability to pull the big stuff off that I want to do with the custom .30-06 that I am having built....I really do want to reach out there with it....guess you can tell that I am a hopeless analytic....
What do people think about all of this?....any ideas or thoughts....maybe some of you have seen similar stuff going on.....damn I hate getting older
