bullet tumbling out of my 357

i had a 357 mag barrel fitted too my survivor frame.when i got it back we lengthened the chamber too accept the 357 maximum cart. it shoots the max cart great but now when i shoot my 357 mag loads it tumbles the bullet.the 357 mag load i shoot is the same load i use for my s&w 686,158gr lead swc bullet over 8.5 grs of hs-6 powder.any ideas what is causing this bullet too tumble?thanks

Maybe, due to long free flight and high speed, bullet don't engrave rifling but rip on it ?.

Recover a bullet by shooting into a couple of water filled milk jugs and take a look at it.  My bet is that it is entering the rifled part of the barrel cocked sideways and then engaging the rifling at an angle.  Larry

ditto to the above.

Just use your 357 max cases with that load in that rifel and see how it shoots.

The only .357-.358" bullets I have had trouble with keyholes has been the Oregon Trails Laser Cast 158 gr LSWC.   The bullet seems to be too hard to engrave properly in the micro groove barrel, like Pascal said.
