I want to go hog hunting!!
« on: December 06, 2005, 09:05:09 AM »
I'm in Michigan, would drive 10-12 hours, so that makes TN. GA. there abouts.
I want to hunt WILD FREE RANGE pigs, no fences. if you are or know of a farmer who has pig problems that would be great.
if you know of a good place in the mountians that would be good too.

any info will be greatly appreciated
I have access to some land in Michigan that is connected to LOTS of public hunting land if anyone wants to swap a hunt
Thanks
~Jake

I can recommend two places:

Black River Plantation in SC

www.blackriverplantationsc.com

Egan Hill Plantation  912-748-5293 or 912-313-7952

both hunt free ranging hogs from tree stands, at Egan Hill they will also walk and stalk

BRP you do your own cooking at Egan Hill the food is included.

I would rate BRP just a little above Egan Hill but both are good places

Let me make you feel better. It's too hot to hunt right now. Stay under the air-conditioner until the snakes, chiggers and skeeters go to bed.

Curdog I don't think them northern boys are gettin your drift. You got the hogs and the dogs. I use a different technique. Jack Russells and a rifle. My Jack's have never actually whipped a big hog but, they haven't seemed realize it yet. Of course they haven't found a hog fast enough to whip them either.
