200 Yard Target Shot Today ... Sorry that Snapfish will not generate an IMG straight to the forum...
Anyway, shot the same recipe with the H&R today at 200 & 300yds. Kind of tough getting settings on the vernier due to 17 mph winds & gusting from 4 o'clock.
The 200yd target above needed 4 elevation and windage adjustments. Finally, with more windage compensation, the holes in the 10 ring represent the last vernier settings.
The 300yd target for 20 shots were scattered all over (7's - 10's with 1 X) using a 200yd maintenance target
I am not posting to do a peacock strut, but to show the results of what the H&R BC with the 38-55 barrel (plus Original Powder, of course
) can produce on paper and would be capable also shooting competition. Possibly as an iinducement for others to shoot BPCR through their H&R in 38-55 and 45-70
As for the 45-70 barrel, I'm getting good accuracy out to 600yds with 70gr Goex FFg and the Lyman 457123 Postell bullet. Best group so far: 600yds - 5 shots with a 2.4" 3 shot group plus 1 hole right of the group at 3" and 1 left of the group at 4". That's a little over 7 Inches!
