Finn Mosin Front Sight
« on: June 22, 2006, 02:42:44 PM »
May have found why my Finn is not a shooter.  The front sight is loosey-goosey.  Did this part get soldered on or just press fitted into place?

Next question is, how to make sure it is position when I 'fix' it?

The sight does not look damaged.  She wiggles too much though.

All information is appreciated!

The channel into which the base dovetail slides needs to be tightened up so that there is a good friction fit for the sight. This can be accomplished by using a hammer to ever so slightly tap it while it is against a hard surface such as a vice until it is closer together.
The more I listen,the more I hear....and vice versa.
