Daystate Air Rifle

Need some help!

Recently had my Daystate Huntsman Air Rifle stolen.  Great rifle in .177!
The rifle gave me 25 consistent shots between the high 800's and very low 900's with the 10.5 gr Crossman dommed pellet.  It was quite due to permanently attached factory moderator (not silent) and real accurate.  It's quite when compared to some of the other PCP guns I've heard fired.  This gun and the others I had stolen were insured so I'm getting a good check for it and the other guns.

I've had the gun for 5 years.  This is the only PCP rifle I've owned and I've been very well pleased.  The market has changed since my purchase and the options are just a bit overwhelming.  (Logun, Air Arms, Daystate, Falcon)

1.)I need a powerful but quite air rifle.  Is there anyone producing factory equipped (permanently attached) moderator that I can legally purchase.  Sound will kill me as I do live in sub-division
2.)I need a gun that provides shot to shot consistency.  What I had with the Daystate will be fine but if I can increase that it would be even better
3.)Accurate
4.)A little less weight would be nice but not a deal breaker.
5.)Possibly open to switch to a .22 pellet rifle

I would be great (at a mininum) to see the same speed with the 10.5 gr pellet and get more shots.  Even better if I can get more consistency, higher velocity, and higher shot count between fills.

If its a .22 I would hope to get close to the same speed with more shots and better cosistency

Based on my list do you have any quality air rifles you can recommend for to check out?

Thanks,
Tim

The Air Arms S410 ERB is a 27-30fpe rifle in 22 (set on high power), and according to the reviews I've read is very accurate and pretty quiet for the energy output.  It is a repeater and has a power adjustment on it so you can turn it down as needed and so make it even quieter and use less air.  It sports a factory installed moderator.  There is a carbine model if you want a lighter rifle, and I believe that one is in the 25fpe range due to the shorter barrel.

The S400 ERB is the same rifle as a single shot.

The FX Typhoon is single shot in the 24-25fpe range and is supposedly a little louder than the AA.

The Logun Solo is a rebranded Typhoon.  I have one in 22 and love it.  I get about 30 good shots per fill with the short reservoir, the long one will give you 8-10 more.

There is supposedly going to be an accessory released this summer that will make the Solo/Typhoon a repeater.  It's on my "must have" list.

Check out the "Our Take" section at Straight Shooters.  Kevin and Craig are good guys to deal with.

410 ERB, get the same results mentioned except with ~15 grain pellets in .22 ! Plue roughly 40 shots on full power..many more if you tone it down. Slap on a CF LDC and it gets better from the factory Shroud.

Great all around rifle. I shoot mine in NRA silhouette, love it.

I've looked at the Logun, Air Arms, and the new Daystate Rifles.
Basically the guys at Straight Shooter think the Air Arm 410ERB and the Logun are step above the Daystate.  To me, that is saying a lot because I was well satisfied with the accuracy, speed, and quality of the gun I owned.

For me, its still a toss up!  There may be some high grade air rifles in my area but I've yet to see one.  When people saw my Daystate they acted shocked when I told them it was an air rifle.  Still undecided on caliber.  Never owned a .22 but I've had great results on animals up to squirrel size withe Daystate.

Again, I want the power without the pop.  I want a rifle that shoots accurately.  Nothing interesting about an inaccurate rifle.  So I keep surfing the web reading reviews and commentary about various rifles.

Basically I've hit three choices I like.  Well, actually more than three but I can decide which Daystate best suits me.  The top of the line Logan, the Air Arms 410 ERB, and some Daystate version.  Just trying to gather information on the power, shot consistency, and sound levels produced.   I've found power information available but little sometimes about the average number consistent shot per fill with the various rifles.  Also, the sould level information has been nonexistant to vague at best.  Several comments I read were comparing the sound to another rifle and I've hever heard that other rifle fire.

Also, would you gus recommend unregulated air rifles instead the regulated variety.  I understand the regulated variety can create problems down the road.  I also understand that finding out about the shot consistency of an unregulated rifle is simply firing it over a Chronograph to see when the power level starts dropping off.  Well, I believe my Daystate was unregualted because I did fire it several times to find out what the shot consistency was at a particular fill level.

I've read that the only reason for a regulated rifle is if you demand the utmost in accuracy for competition where hundredths of an inch make the difference between 1st and 2nd place.  For informal paper punching and hunting, there's no advantage.

Explain this moderator issue to me.  The same lack of information is going on today as when I purchase the Daystate several years ago.

Depending on who you talk to as whether or not they are legal if permanently attached.  Many say they are not but if thats true why can non Class 3 people sale them to people that have not paid the $200 fee and gone through the check by the BATF?  If the BATF considers them illegal, why are they not doing something about it?  It's not like they have to look hard to find the people who are selling air rifles with permanently attached moderators.
