How to keep spray paint cans spraying?
« on: June 24, 2006, 08:42:49 AM »
How do you keep yours from clogging? (Aside from clearing nozzle by spraying upside down.)

How do you unclog the ones that inevitably do?

We use white primer (local hardware store brand) because it dries quickly. Maybe that's part of the problem. Is there another paint that works better?

All advice appreciated.

Sometimes you can clean them out with a straight pin or opened up safety pin when they get clogged (remove them from the spray can first so you don't inadvertently give yourself a paint job.) You also might try removing the clogged nozzles and soaking them in a cap full of enamel reducer or lacquer thinner.

Spray Paint

Hi,

We use spray paint from Wal Mart.  Usually, at $.97 to $1.00 per can.

An unsanitary, but usually works method, of clearing a clogged dispenser tip is to remove the tip and blow into it from the end that connects to the can.
