not entirely, but cutting off the forearm, ahead of the lug. any thoughts of this odd idea? seems no different than free-floating it, but much simpler while more pemament.

Sure, go ahead, let us know how it works!! :wink: A replacement forend won't be more than $20 shipped, even less on ebay!!

eh, once i get another forend i'll try it but i won't try unless all else fails in trying to get my rifle to shoot straight.
but i think i will try mounting a bipod as close to the hinge as possible.
