I have had the pleasure to shoot one of these jewels in the last few days and am here to tell you that it is one fine piece. Very accurate with the original Mossberg peep sights that swing away.
Never knew the rifle existed till my neighbor pulled "this old World War 2 training rifle" out to show me one day last week.
It was in the box as it came from the CMP program several years ago. He shot it a few times but never really got into it.
I cleaned it up and checked it over. Every thing was in very good shape. Shows no usage at all.
After about 50 rounds thru it and me getting pretty familiar with the sight picture I was pretty much putting them (off the bench) thru the same hole. Distance was 25 yards.
Any one know much history about the rifle please post.
All markings are good. sn is 157xxx
