Yeah, the nice thing about the 44 mag is that it was made for speed and power. I can run a 240 gr JHP in my 45LC Ruger over a load of 28.0 gr of H110 to 1532 fps. The same weight bullet in a 44 Mag over a load of 24.5 gr Lilgun is running 1582 fps. I believe whatever critter you shot with either would be in a world of hurt and probably wouldn't know the difference. Just a case of which caliber each of us prefer. If I didn't reload and shoot Rugers I would also go with the 44 mag. Have owned probably 5 or 6 in my life. Rugers, S&W's and one Hawes.
