Red Dot for a Buckmark
« on: July 16, 2006, 12:06:24 PM »
I am looking for a red dot scope for my new Buckmark target pistol. It is my understanding that the distance between the slots on the scope rail of the Buckmark is different then other pistols. Can anyone enlighten me on what they are using on their Buckmarks and what type of mount you have.

Thanks,
Jim

I have had three different ones on my Buckmark and the standard mount that the red dot comes with fits the Buckmark rail just fine.

Thanks Keith. When I purchased my Buckmark pistol they showed me a Tasco red dot that would not fit the rail. Granted it was only a $30 scope, but it still didn't fit for some reason. For that reason he suggested purchasing a red dot that used rings so the distance could be adjusted to fit. If you could, can you tell me what red dots you used. This would help me decide if he was just blowing smoke trying to sell me a more expensive scope or he just didn't know his facts.

Thanks,
Jim

One did use rings, one was a Tasco and the one that is on the gun now is an ATN Digital Ultrasight.  It works great.

Thanks for the info Keith. I just did a search on the ATN Digital Ultrasight site. That looks very interesting. I may have to look at that one a littler harder instead of the red dot. It looks like it might help aquire the target a little faster.

Thanks,
Jim

It is a red dot but isn't a tube.  Doktor and Bushnell have similar sights as well that deserve a look.

Aim Point

I used an aim point 2000 on my buckmark for years in bullseye competion. Tens of thousands of rounds and not one problem. Also had the same scope on a 41 mag and a high standard 22.
