I've had a RCBS Uniflow powder measure for over 30 years, and I really haven't used it all that much, as I usually prefer to weigh charges, but recently I've gotten into a couple of projects where the measure would save me some time and be accurate enough, so I decided to purchase the micrometer adjustment for it.
I now find that the micrometer is much longer than the old screw adjustment and hits the back of my mount even at the zero setting. The obvious solution is to turn everything around 180 degrees so that the micrometer is in front and won't hit anything.
But that means that I am now charging powder on the upstroke, not the downstroke like I've done for years, and I don't know how easily I can adjust.
I don't own the RCBS stand, but looking at it, I don't think there's enough room for the micrometer anyway.
If you have the micrometer, how have you set it up?
Is there any difference charging on the upstroke?
UPDATE 7/10 - Sorry, I guess I wasn't descriptive enough. I'm using the simple bar mount, not the RCBS stand mount. If I want to have the measure remain in the position I'm used to (if the measure is in the center of a clock face looking down from above), the micrometer points to 12:00 and the handle points to 6:00, and I'm sitting at 6:00, working the handle with my right hand. The micrometer hits the mount bar before the drum is fully up and taking on a powder charge. Looking at the photo below, it doesn't appear to me that the stand mount would provide clearance for the micrometer in this configuration, either. So I have to rotate the measure so the micrometer points away from 12:00 and doesn't hit the mount?
I hope I've been able to explain myself
Thanks!
