Anyone used GOEX Cartridge

My local gunshop was out of Cannon-grade and recommended GOEX Cartridge instead for a small brass coehorn mortar.

Apparently it is an Fg equivalent.

Should I use it or return it?

It is my understanding that Cartridge grade GOEX is a more uniform (and more expensive) version of Fg.  I use Fg in guns (and chambers) of one inch diameter and less so I would consider it acceptable.  But the extra uniformity of Cartridge grade is wasted in artillery so buy Fg instead.

How small is "small"?

Small, in this case, is a bore of 1.35", 0.75" chamber in 3" diameter round of brass.

I decided to keep it under Golf Ball caliber as a salute mortar...

Did he give reason why he recommend Cartridge.  Fg will work just fine.

Out of cannon and Fg after the 4th July and had a lot of FFg, FFFg and FFFFG left - enough so they wouldn't be getting another shipment for a few weeks.

I was about to leave when one guy suggested Cartridge would do just fine and it was the same price as the rest.

If it is the same price, it's just fine as an Fg substitute.
