Rem 750 semi auto - 35 Whelen
« on: July 04, 2006, 04:29:24 AM »
:-\ I just got my Rem 750 - 35 Whelen but I ordered the 22inch barrel and got the carbine with a 181/2 inch barrel. I would like to know what the ballistics difference will be, if they are not real different, I will keep this one. Thanks for any insight - Gordy.

Gordy, Check the Remington site or one of their catalogs. I shoot a 7600 in 30-06. with barrel cut to 19" and Ive used their formula for years.

Gordy you may get alot of different answers on this one like 20 to 50 fps per inch. I would call remington as they have put there factory ammo through both the carbine and the 22"  and if you handload you would be able to make up alot of the loss. I have the whelen in 22" but have not yet used a chrony Years ago i bought a 760 pump ion 30/06 22" it now has an 18" You can always cut it down later but you cant add on  Goodluck Tanoose
