Ruger No. 1 in .44 Magnum
« on: July 29, 2006, 12:07:20 PM »
I'm thinking of havign a Ruger No. 1 rebarreled or rebored for .44 magnum so that I can shoot it in indoor pistol ranges, where centerfire rifle calibers are off limits.

Anybody have any thoughts, comments, recommendations for who would do the work?

Thanks

For what it would cost to do that you could just pick up a used Lever gun in 44 mag or a T/C to stick with a single shot.
What Cal. is your Number one in ?

You might want to double check with your indoor range, before pursuing this project. Many indoor ranges don't allow rifles in pistol calibers, except rimfires.

Why not find a Ruger #3 in .44 Mag.? There were a few of them manufactured in this caliber.
