Reloading for 30 Carbine...question
« on: July 19, 2006, 06:35:37 PM »
This winter I came across a 10 30 Carbine barrel.  I went for it and have yet to jump into
reloading 30 Carbine.

I have an M-1 Carbine as well as this Contender barrel...but I'm still not reloading this caliber
yet.  It seems a bit "limited" in terms of guns (in my case) and the manuals do not have many
loads listed for this caliber.

I'm really tempted to sell the barrel and just continue to buy surplus to use in the M-1.

Any suggestions or comments?

Thanks.

Bob,

The .30 Carbine is a very easy caliber to load for and handloading will bring a whole different performance level to surplus and WWB ammo. IT can be loaded light for varmints and the 110g RNSP make for a great small game load. Powders in the region of AA#9 to IMR 4227 are going to be your best bet.

Thank you gents!  I'm trying to "justify" gearing up to reload the caliber.
