Powder for 260 rem

I have always been frustrated by the number of powder choices for a given cartrige.  I am trying to work up a load for my 260 rem and would really appreciate recomendations for my 260.   I want to use the Nosler 120gr BT bullet and the Nosler 100gr BT.  I am shooting a rifle from the Savage custom shop.  It is a heavy 24" barrel.  I mainly use the gun for target shooting so I want the most accurate loads.  Thanks.

For the lighter bullets like that mine loves Varget and any flavor of 4895. For the heavier bullets it works best with 4350.

Hmm you didn't say what poowder you are using now  but in the 6.5x55 I have found that IMR 4350 works well with the Speer 120 Grain flat based bullet and I would certainly try that pwder. H380 would be another that I would look at as it works well is various sized cases as does H335. Good luck with you loads.

Re 19, IMR4831, H414 and IMR4350 are better suited to the 120 grain bullets in the 260 Remington.
That speed of powder would also include WW760 and H4350. That's a lot of different powders to choos from but if you are looking for a powder that gives top velocities then start with Re 19 to see if you can find an accurate load with it. If that doesn't fit your guns liking then the old standby of one of the two 4350's should work for accuracy and near top velocities in any gun. (in that caliber and bullet weight)
