Sig's 1911 Pistols
« on: July 26, 2006, 01:48:07 PM »
Anyone given the Sig 1911 pistols a try?  I'm considering one next time I need to get a new pistol.  I would likely go with the Revolution Nitron w/ accessory rail.  Any input available on them would be appreciated.

I have NO personal experience with the SIG 1911.
I do have experience with SIGS---I like them---A lot.
I have read commentary, here and there, some good-some critical. Most of the criticsm was concerning fit and finish on the first model. I hve not read of any who had issues with relaibility, this is not to say that there are NO issues-but I have not read of any.
If it was a SIG I would bet on it.

I bought one of the new XO models a few months ago - great gun.  I had some initial troubles that I thought were gun-related but they turned out to be my problems.  I found I had to put a good taper crimp on my reloads to get them to feed every time, and I must have been limp-wristing in a some shots that weren't feeding correctly.  Never had a failure to fire or failure to extract.  I benched it at 25 yards a while back with some plinker lead bullet reloads and shot 3" groups.  I shot my first match ever with it last month without a hitch.   (There was a guy at the plates with his Kimber Target that couldn't go more than 6 rds without a jam)
It did come pretty dirty from the factory and the barrrel didn't have that "glass smooth" look that my 220 had.  Overall I'd recommend it.  I chose the SIG because I trust the brand, like the looks and it's not made in Brazil.
