Clover varieties that grow well almost anywhere would be Ladino, Red & Alsike. You could even throw some Birdsfoot Trefoil in there. This stuff grows almost anywhere. And the nice thing about this mix (or any clover mix) is that it's a perennial. All you will have to do is mow it a couple times during the season and add some 6-24-24 to it in the spring. You should be all set.
Up north, we can get those plots coming back year after year. They have been known to last at least 5 season, and even up to 10 seasons as long as they are properly maintained.
