Savage 110FP
« on: July 14, 2006, 10:56:05 AM »
Was considering one of these very much in 30-06 with the bull barrell 24 inch, matte finish, synthetic stock, put a bipod etc, i already have a remington 700 bdl 30-06 that i reload for etc and its very accurate, but its a little too pretty for me to cover in a ghillie rug and carry it in the woods without having to baby it too much. Anyone own one? how is the accutrigger? How does it compare to your other bolt action rifles.
I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?"
Well, to tell the truth I shoot a Springfield XD so it doesnt really matter.

A buddy of mine has one in .308. It's very accurate, great trigger (accu-trigger). The only problem is it's weight It's a pretty heavy rifle with that big bull barrel on it. Every time we go hunting he is ready to give it away by the end of the hunt. I tell him he should have bought a hunting rifle and not a sniper rifle. We do a lot walking where we hunt and it's in the mountains. The 10 - 110 FP is a great rifle as long as your don't mind hauling it around, or if you don't do much walking.

I own a 110FP in 25-06. It's very avvurate and the accutrigger is very good. I was originally looking at the standard 110 in 25-06. I then realized that the 110FP with a 24" heavier barrel (the standard 110 had a 22" light barrel) only weighed one pound more. So I bought the 110FP. I use the rifle for ground setups before sunrise and before sunset. It's definitely not a carry rifle. For carrying I use my Remy 700 Mountain Rifle in 280 Remington.
Hunting and fishing are not matters of life or death. They are much more important than that.
