Best bow for 2006
« on: July 24, 2006, 05:15:06 PM »
what bow is the best out there now? I know it is personal preference but.... welll the ones i am depating between is the Switchback XT and the Bowtech Tribute. What are the pros and cons between the two?? Also do both have different settings for the draw length on the cams. For example would both have 28.5' two 29.5 draw length etc....

Howd'y:
I was just debating the same thing last week.
I chose the XT.
Reasons:
1. It fit me better.
2. It was a smoother draw and release.
3. Less felt vibration after release
4. Company Reputation and Customer service.

Not sure about the Tribute, but the XT comes draw lenght specific,
can't be change without changing Cams.
The Tribute shot great but the XT shot better, atleast it did for me.
I can't see going wrong with either.

I've been looking into the Pearson Stealth...I have had excellent luck with my Pearson Spolier Lite so I thought I would go back to Pearson again...I like the road less travelled.

See the bow comparison in las month's Bowhunter magazine. Switchback xt won but there are good comments and bad comments about all the bows tested.

I went with the Tribute and yes you can change the draw length on by changing the mods. Faster than the XT plus you can switch to smooth mods that will make it draw as smooth as the XT

I have a Jennings Speed Master I bought in 1997. I've taken a LOT of deer with it over that time.  However, compared to todays bows, it's HEAVY! I'm thinking about a new one.

I shot the PSE Diablo, the Mathews Switchback, and the  Bowtech Tribute.  Felt the "slap" of the limbs on the PSE, although it wasnt bad.  The Mathews "kicked out" on the bottom.  The Bowtech was an "oh man" on the shot.  I NEVER FELT THE BOW RELEASE!!  I DIDNT "FEEL" ANYTHING! It is the smoothest bow I have ever shot.

I want to shoot the Bowtech Liberty solo cam and the Browning Illusion before I make my final selection. As it sits now, I'll get the Tribute if the one of the others doesnt surpass or equal it.

BTW, already filled my 1st tag in CA this year. 08:20 2nd day of the bow season.  Working the bears now.
