Try just one pair of wool socks and a light liner sock underneath.  If your feet are too restricted they can get cold because blood flow is hindered.  I have a pair of Icebreakers and I can sit in a stand all day in 0-20 degree weather, not that we have had that during deer season the past few years.
We learn something new everyday whether we want to or not.

+1 on the ice breakers. I have hunted in an ice storm one year. My feet never got cold.

My Tips.

1. Just wear regular socks.
2. Not too snug of boots. Toes need to move.
3. Put them on as soon as you get to your stand.

Remember: They save heat from leaving your boots. They DON'T create heat.

If your feet do get cold, Take them off, take a short walk, put them back on.
