Mink bait
« on: July 29, 2006, 04:45:00 AM »
Heres a neat little trick i just learned a few days ago. I have a creek on the property and it has some crawdads in it so I figured to use some for mink bait. I made a trap and baited it with hotdog and started catching them right away. I wasn't sure how I should preserve them so I got to thinking and came up with this idea. Take a 3" piece of small diameter wire and insert it through the crawdad and than place them in a zip lock bag and put in the freezer. When you need one just take it out of the freezer and wire it to your trap pan and make your set. Mink see the crawdad and pounce on it and are caught. I doubt if I'm the first to think of this, but thought I'd pass it on. Worm
