357 Barrel
« on: July 29, 2006, 09:17:17 AM »
Lookin on the H&R site finding barrels I need.  I have it narrowed down to 45-70 32" BC barrel, the 243 24" Bull barrel, and my dad thinks he would like the 357 Mag barrel.  He says it would be great because we have piles and piles of 38 brass and alot of 357 mag brass, plus I cast .358 caliber bullets for his Model 15 S & W in 38.  So it would be the most cost effective barrel to have.

Are the 357's barrel  accurate?  2" at 50 yards is close enough to accurate for me with open sights

DK,

Here's a 100 yard group I shot with .360 DWs in my .357 Mag barrel (it's unmodified).

I use a 3-9X Bushnell scope on it that I probably paid $30 for new.  With the right loads, it'll shot that good with .38 Specials and .357 Mags too.
