I think the Remington 200gr & 250gr loads are the only factory loads for it now that Federal drop their load.

Yepp that's what i told my stepson there's not a whole lot of choices for factory loads in the 35 whelen unless you reload.

Nosler is now loading for it. They make about the ultimate ammo for it these days but it shore ain't cheap. I think I have 2-3 boxes of it setting around here left over after I got rid of my Whelen. Dunno if I'll ever get another or not.

OK GB, I have been trying to curtail my spending and have restrained myself for a few hours now after reading your mention of the ammo, but I have to ask, What style and grain bullets are in your .35 Whelen ammo (suitable for large Maine whitetail perhaps?) and if you do not get another .35 Whelen would you be willing to sell the ammo to me for my .35 Whelen Handi? Also if you are willing to sell, at what cost?........Thanks....<><....

I didn't make the comment with intentions of selling but they have been sold anyway.

The 35 Whelen is an odd ball and ammo makers know it. So you guys better get some dies and load your own. Just because H&R decided to make an odd ball and obsolete caliber is not going to crank up factory ammo production.

I have a 375 Winchester Ruger#3 another odd ball and  there is only one brand of ammo available if the store carries them. I bought 2 boxes and depleted the stores supply.

Placed a die order with Natchez 2 month ago and they were out of stock, so far no dies yet. Just shows odd ball and obsolete calibers are not stocked, which makes sense for a seller.

Tim.
Natchez had them for 18.59 with shell holder, they told me they be in, in two weeks. Good thing I am not in a hurry. I better give them a call and find out what the heck is up.

I am not all that fuzzy about Mid Way when I order stuff from Yuma they told me they can't sell to me because I am Canadian so I quit buying from them even though they are shipping to the US.

I do have dies for reloading .35 Whelen as I do for most of my guns/calibers. I have them just in case the democrats get into a position of unbridled power and it becomes impossible to get any guns and/or ammo. Thanks to the democrats in this liberal and socialistic Commonwealth of Massachusetts it is already illegal to purchase many types of handguns in this state even if you are licensed to carry, as well as it being illegal to purchase ammo or reloading supplies through the mail(even round lead ball for my ML's)l. Led by our liberal, socialistic, democratic, Attorney General Tom Rielly (who is now running for Governor!!) these democrats, Kennedy and Kerry among them, are slowly chipping away at our second amendment rights....<><....:(

RMS as per H&R any factory ammo that is safe for a Marlin 1895 is safe to use in the handi rifle. From what i've seen posted at greybeards i think the handi might even handle more then the marlin
