Drought Conditions In South Dakota
« on: July 23, 2006, 04:44:02 AM »
Thinking about taking a trip into SD for some prairie dog shooting but have heard that the drought is very severe in SD.  Thinking about going to the Cheyenne River Reservation, Dewey County, SD.  Anyone been there this season for a prairie condition report?  Tanks   DG

DeeGee..hey, I hear you can shoot em at night over there.all the flames from the forest fires light up the fields.he he he.I really don't know.but the south west has been in a severe drought condition now for a while.even if we did get a couple good rains(and we have)with in a day or two you can not tell that we had any at all.
my huntin rifle is safe from confiscation only while my battle rifle protects it.

DeeGee,
That area (Dewey county), according to the drought monitor, appears to be very dry. I drove across SD on I-90 the 1st of June and it looked dry west river. From what I have read it has only gotten worse.
