Browning xt trap or BT-99
« on: July 25, 2006, 01:15:12 PM »
Looking to purchase a new trap gun and have always liked the BT 99 but when I looked at them I was disapointed in that there is no engraving on the new ones unless you tripple the price andgo with the goldenclays edition. The xt trap is a fine looking shotgun with some nicer engraving. I've never shot one of the citori guns before and am a little leery about forking over that much money without any experience with them. They seem to fit about the same as a 99 . Has anyone shot both these guns and what are your feeling about either

I've shot them both, and most assuredly the XT is the way to go from my experience.  To be fair, however, the BT-99 had the Graco recoil reduction system and I just never grew fond of it.  The other problem, of course, was you can't do Doubles with the 99.
