I am trying to learn to post pictures. I hope this turns out. If it does it is my curly ash stock I made for my 444 that was salvaged from a house fire.http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/tnwhip/6491296d.jpg

I think I have it one more picture. This rifle was in a house fire. The old stock and forearm was chared pretty. It also had a scope on it that was melted.  I salvaged the gun and carved a new stock from some ash that I cut down back in 94. It sure did have some pretty grain. Makes a great stock as you can see. Their ain't many bolt actions got this nice of wood. http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/tnwhip/1da94bb8.jpg

Beautiful work, Whip!  And that curly ash is something else!  Great figure.

Hope the rifle didn't get hot enough to damage it's strength.

The rifle turned out to be OK even the springs were good. You could not tell it from the scope that was on it. Some say my loads are too hot LOL!

I hope you took the rifle to a good gunsmith?  The fire may have taken out the temper of the steel.  That action may shoot fine 1,2, or who knows and then kapawow!!##%**.
