Any powder and bullet suggestions?

Does any one have any suggestions for some powder and bullets for a huntsman?  I will be using it for whitetail in Georgia so it wont be long range or big animals.  I would like something that is commonly available and economic but will work well.  I have been using the solid pellets and they work fine, but I was thinking the loose powder might be cheaper.  Any suggestions?

If you are looking for saboted bullets, the Hornady XTP's with MMP sabots are about as economical as it gets. You can buy the pistol bullets and get the sabots through MMP. The 200, 250, 300 grain Shockwaves/SST bullets are very common and work well. For Powder the 777 in FFG grade is very common and works very well.

Don't overlook conicals, mine shoots 430 and 460 grain conicals under 1" at 100 yards with scope and 1-1/2" to 2" with a peep sight, when I do my part. 85 grains of 777 FFFG and a .060" thick .518 fiber gasket wad between the powder and bullet. If your shots are 125 yards and under, it just don't get any better than the conicals. Conicals can be had from Bull Shop or No Excuses, you will want them sized at .503".

I like two 50 grain pyrodex pellets and 250 grain shock-wave bullets. I have also topped my Huntsman with 1X4 power circle X scope by Bushnell and love it.

Try barnes spitfire 285gr with T7 3F loose at 95grs. My huntsaman loves it.

I normally use 80-85 gr. of either pyrodex rs, or T7.  This past year, I used the 240gr. xtp sabots they sell in a pack at walmart, and the year before, it was Winchester platinum tips (260 gr. I believe).  Year before that was 295gr. copper HP powerbelts, year before that was the heavier TC Maxi-balls.  It comes down to the fact that deer aren't hard to kill, and any load from 70+ gr. of powder and about a 240gr. bullet or more will work.  If you look back a page or two, you can see a picture of me with my muzzleloader deer from last season taken at 140yds.  He didn't seem to notice that it was 85gr. of powder as opposed to the 150gr. that the gun rags would lead you to believe you need.  Good luck.
