Rechamber .223 bull barrel?
« on: August 03, 2006, 10:36:24 AM »
I would like to rechamber this barrel. What are my caliber options and where can I send it to get the work done?

Thank you!

Wayne York has done 3 rechamber/rebores for me, you can rechamber/rebore it to any non-magnum caliber with a larger bore and chamber dimensions than the .223, or leave it as a .224" bore and just do the chamber like to .220 Swift or .225 Winchester. Use Steve's pages to compare the .223 chamber to others cartridges.

Excellent! Thanks for the fast response quickdtoo! Now here is another question... How big can I go caliber wise?

The muzzle of my .223 Ultra measures .800", the same as my 22" .45-70, if that helps!! I believe the .500S&W has the same barrel diameter and contour.
