I picked-up a nice Marlin 1895 45-70 from a bud at a fair price:
It had really nice figured wood. I added a Leupold 1.5x4.5x20 VX-II scope, Limbsaver pad, a Marbles white diamond buckhorn rear sight and a Williams fiber optic front.
It's a shooter too - and much nicer on my shoulder with the Limbsaver pad added!
I'm shooting Starline Nickel Plated Brass and Lasercast 430 gas-checked flat nose bullets. Bambi should hide, IMHO!
