Range report 10" 7mm-08
« on: August 10, 2006, 04:26:25 AM »
I put a scope on it and went to the range last nite. It truns out that my mounts were too low. I had it turned up all the way and it still hit under the target! Needless to say, I changed these around when I got back home.

I did shoot a whole box of 20. I ended up using Kentucky windage so I can't speak on accuracy. I was hitting the taget, but hold over was unreal, so it wasn't real accurate. I wanted to get used to shooting it.

Muzzle flip was interesting. The fireball out of the barrel was also. Recoil wasn't bad, just sharp. One bit of caution, EXTRA HEARING PROTECTORS. I was wearing plug and muffs. I took one shot with only the earplugs and I thought my head caved in! Next shot was a definite flinch! I could watch the shock wave out across the grass, in front of the bench, and see the fireball if I didn't flinch. Both were very impressive.

I get back to ya'll when I get some more shells and can get back to the range.
