I own one.
I enjoy shooting it.
Reed has ammo for $18 a box on this site.
It has its good points. It is an easy shooter and accurate. It functions well, as you would expect an FN product to do.
Adequate for self defense? It has better range than many/most handguns. It is better, in my opinion, than a .22 mag. Speed is awsome, if that is something that you like--I do.
It is not an urban self defense weapon.
It is plastic and light.
I would not sell it.

babe - it seems that here in NYS, or at least in my county, only the cops can get the 5.7s.  None of my favorite gunshops carry the pistol or the ammo, only the cop shop does and they won't sell to you unless you have a badge.  Mikey.

Actually we have the SS197 on Sale for 14.50 per box right now, the SS195 is running 18.00 per box, I'm down to about 10 boxes.

Babe-
No, I have never measured the pull.
It is OK, though. I have not felt any creep or roughness---The Hen says I doan have no feelin's though  ;)---I don't carry it for self defense, this urban location I live in, but I shoot it at the range.
I like the weapon. I would hate to be shot with it  :P. The function is very good and the recoil is a pleasure after shooting some of the other stuff I have.
On Reed's comments--I find the ammo to be pretty accesable, around here, though not the armor piercing, for about the same price.
Great plinker and I would like to live where I could get after some varmits with it.
Blessings

dealer that had the fnh  on display. almost purchased it but he was asking 100 bucks above the

It's the coolest handgun introduction in quite a while. Nice gun.
