pro hunter in 300 mag

Where's the best and cheapest place to buy the new pro hunter barrels? I'm looking for a 300 mag. Does anyone have one in this cal. just woundering how it shot and what kind of velocity the 28" barrel was producing

Almost all of the shooters supply places carry them, Cabalas, Midwest shooters etc. Just give them a call.  I don't have a 300 Win Mag in my pro-hunter so I can't help you in that department.

I have the regular SS-Composite  Encore with a 26" tube in 300 win mag.It is my go to rifle. I don't think you will gain much more velocity with the 28" barrel. l like the Encore for it's shorter over all length and don't think I would add a longer barrel. I  have been hunting the last few years with the pistol version in 308. Sports a 16 1/4 " Virgin Valley barrel with rifle forearm.

The Pro Hunter 28" is the same length as a 24" bolt gun & I seldom think of them being too long.

The Pro hunter with 28'' barrel is the same length as my 22'' barreled stevens 200 in 25-06. ( within 3/16")
