7-30 Waters Vs. a Black Bear
« on: April 07, 2003, 05:08:17 AM »
I know that shot placement is the key in every situation, assuming that won't be an issue, what should I load up.  I am not  going after any trophy bears and I would like to extend the bullets effective range as far as possible.  I have some good 120 gr. loads that shoot at about 2350 fps.  Is this too light of a load?  I also have some 139 gr Noslers that I have shot.  If you could give me some loads that you think would work best and perhaps the range that I can expect with that load, I would be very grateful.
Thanks,
Oxnam

Scrol down and read the post on the topic "Heavy bullets in the 7X30 waters"  You may get some ideas on using the 7X30 and heavy bullets.

Shot  a very nice Michigan with a 10 inch Contender with factory loads and did a very nice job...now I have a 21 inch contender and have rechambered it to 7 GNR...Reeder Custom Guns did the work and a very nice job.   ps   had the 10 inch Magna Ported and was using a tasco red dot.....Hal :o
