223 Loads

With the cost of White Box ammo having gone up from $12 to over $16, has anyone come up with a reload that duplicates it ? Thanks

First, the usual disclaimer: This load has proven safe in my 4 ARs, (Two Bushmasters, one DPMS and one Colt). Also one AR (Bushmaster) and a Mini-14, both owned by friends. Also in several bolt actions. Everyone else is encouraged to get several current reloading manuals to use as references, and start at least 10% below and carefully work their way up, watching for signs of problems.

Case: Any 223 Remington or 5.56 NATO, inspected for flaws, full length resized, and trimmed if needed.

Bullet: Winchester .224 55 gr FMJBT/can, available in bulk from Midway.

Primer: CCI 400

Powder: H-335, 25.0 gr

NOTE: Bullets crimped with Lee Factory Crimp die.

Before loading first case, read step by step guides in at least two reloading manuals.

Good accurate load, meters well and cases never stick in my Handi ... 25.5 gr BL-C2 with either 50 or 55 grain Hornady SP. Another load that is accurate ... 25 gr IMR 3031 with 50 grain Hornady SP. The North Texas 100+ degree heat doesn't effect these loads.

Winchester brass, CCI primers, 26.0 gr Varget with 50gr Nosler BT's keeps me under an inch all day; sometimes .5"  I'm working up a load using H335 and 45gr V-Max, but haven't shot it yet.
