mineral oil / castor oil

As an ingredient for a bullet lube, what do you think is preferred -- castor or mineral oil?

I don't like either one, but of the two I'd use castor. However, Neatsfoot works way better than either of those two. I doesn't get gummy.

Pure and natural Jojoba tops all other liquid additives to beeswax and soy wax concoctions made up for black powder rifle bullet lubricants. 

Jojoba is a liquid wax ester.

Although somewhat expensive and not readily available at the nearest "XXXX-Mart" store, an internet search will provide a number of suppliers.

hiram:  Of the two ingredients you mention, I'd go with the Castor oil, but there are other better ingredients such as the jojoba ShortStake mentions.  More particular you might want to try microcrystalline wax as a base replacement for beeswax or soy wax.  Microcrystalline wax has a higher melt point and most importantly will hold in suspension a much greater quantity of whatever "oil"  ingredients you choose to work with.   best regards steve witt
