25/06 BlackPowder Conversion

I was just wondering what exactly is involved and needed to turn my new Ultra 25/06 into a muzzleloader. Pros and cons in doing this. I have a Knight MK85 , but curious about the changeover on the Handi.

There are a couple of ways to do that. If you want to shoot smokeless or think you might the best bet would be to order the barrel from the smokeless barrel guys. I have to look up the address but I think it is smokelessmuzzleloading.com. I would go that way as you could still shoot black or the synthetics and still have the ability to shoot smokeless if desired. I have an NEF Huntsman and bought it second hand as I thought I might want to get the smokeless barrel. I have not had enough time to dial it in with the original barrel so that is down the road. From what I read the NEF/H&R barrels also do a great job other than with smokeless which of course they are not intended for. I think to get the conversion you might have to send the action in for fitting.

I bought a .50 caliber SMI barrel a few months ago, it was returned the next day unfired for several reasons.

Could you be more specific about why it was returned??? I have had communication from other owners of SMI barrels that were very satisfied.
