Can You Get Reloading Data For A Pro Hunter 7MM Rem Mag?
« on: July 01, 2006, 02:22:43 PM »
Just ordered a 7mm Rem Mag Pro Hunter. Where can I get some reloading data for this gun? It has a  1 in 9 twist  28 in. barrel and there  is no data  in any of the books I have that even comes close. Is there any where on line that is reputable to give me a starting point. Just looking for a place with load data or someone who has one of these. Would TC Arms have any or are there any books out there? I have reloaded a 7mm bolt for years and thinking agout starting with those loads. I know these barrels are finicky and love working up loads but just need some insight. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks
Benny

I suggest you just load 7mm Rem Mag loads and find an accurate load.  :D

Thanks RedHawk: I was reading the post on consistantcy in the encore and was thinking when I purchased my Savage 7MM. I was told that a 100 gr. Hollow Point would not work in this caliber. After just 2 powders and seating a little deeper I was able to cut holes at 100 yds. I would have to let the barrel cool between shots but I did it. I guess thats why we reload to do what they say can't be done.

Thanks so much for your help and if you find out if any books come out on these rifles I would appreciate it.

Well NOMOSENDERO: I will be letting you know in about a week what kind of accuracy and FPS this thing will do. I settled on Hornady 120GR. V-MAX and the 139 GR./154 GRs Interbonds. 200 rounds of new brass and IMR 4831 and 7828 / Reloader 22. I will let you guys know how these work out. I think I got it all covered. Oh yea just one more thing I had to buy a chornograph just last night. You Know one of those things your wife says what is that and why do you need it. She don't understand I have to tell you all how fast the bullets go.

Thanks Again
Benny

Will you be using this for hunting?  If so, what will you be hunting?

mkee:

Thanks for your interest. Mainly Deer,Black Bear, Ground Hogs, and if a Turkey comes in close enough for a head shot I would like to know I can take it.

Thanks Again

Call sierra they will tell you where to start. I personally don't see why you couldn't just use the data that you have.
