Anyone using a good bore guide for cleaning??
« on: August 16, 2006, 08:35:18 AM »
Hope I can get some help. I'm looking for a good bore guide to use in my new 7-08 encore barrel. All the ones designed for bolt actions don't seem to work that well. While browsing through the midway catalogue, I spotted caliber specific bore guides made by EJS. Does anyone here use these bore guides? Can you give some advice on what you use when cleaning? Thanks for the help. ;D

You can purchase bore guides specifically for a TC from places like Midway, Sinclair. I made mine from round Delrin stock and just turned it to fit the chamber and neck area.

I make bore guides for my encore barrels by drilling out the base of a spent brass casing and jb welding a short piece of aluminum arrow shaft into the case. works fine for me.

I purchased a couple from this gentleman for my Encore and Contender barrels. They are good quality and fast delivery. Maybe worth a look.

Hope this helps.........Joe
