RUGER #1 QUESTIONS

I,m thinking about a #1 in 35 Whelen,but they only come in stainless. I much prefer blued,and was wondering if any finishes ( besides spray paint) might work on stainless.
 My second question in if a the Alexander Henry forearm will interchange with a #1B.

You can? With what? I have often wondered if this is possible. I know "back in the day" Remington and Winchester used to offer blued stainless barrels, but they were plated with iron first to get the blue to work. As for the first question, KG Gun Kote works great and comes in many colors. So do lots of other finishes such as Black T and Robar's coating. So making a stainless gun black isn't a problem.

Brownells advertises a hot salt bluing compound for stainless steel, cast iron and later model 94 winchesters. I've not seen the material used but have seen bluing shops advertise the bluing of stainless.. It is also possible to black chrome and powder coat SS. I have used powder coating and it is very effective. I've also used the black chrome process and it was beautiful.
