Hi i'm new here.Thinking about buying a PD shooter.Leaning towards a Savage 12BV Any comments?My 243 jumps out of rifle rest and I lose my sight picture.223 will be my new one

That should be a good one. I wouldnt hesatate a bit to go with savage. Although I might wait a little while and check out the new 204ruger cartrige. A 20cal 32 or 33gr bullet traveling at 4225fps if I remember right. Ought to be wicked an prarie dogs out alot farther than a 223 will get you.   KN

With that bullet caliber and weight, it computes that a 5 mph wind of 90' will make that bullet drift about 6".

Thanks for the replies guys!I went and ordered the savage 12 BVSS in 22-250 cal.So did my buddie.Now we need a scope!Any ideas? Like to spend around 300$

i have a savage that i like alot. it is in 222mag,ai. it shoots in the threes.  this summer i bought a cooper in 22-250ai. i put a sightron 6-24 mil dot scope on it . i paid 375 for it. i put  it next to my dad,s leupold 6-20.you get more than you pay for in the sightron. good optics, very repeatable! it,s not the last sightron i,ll buy!
