Dura coat over stainless barrel?
« on: November 07, 2006, 12:58:59 PM »
Hey guys need some advise on dura coat.
I'm thinking of coating my ar-15. But it has a stainless barrel. Will it hurt anything to coat that?
How hard is it to dura coat a gun?
Are there any ill effects on heat disipation?
Any advise is welcome.

It's pretty easy to put DuraCoat over a stainless barrel. I've done this to a few SS rifles with no problems, using matte black and matte clear DuraCoat on different rifles. You can get instructions on the DuraCoat website.

The most important thing is to be sure that the rifle is squeaky clean or the DC will not adhere properly. I also use a GOOD airbrush for application. MI VHNTR
