Any recomendations? I have a great pair of pants that duck hunters use and they are 100 % dry. Gore tex doesn't work so well when you sit on it. I also need a 3xl or larger to go over the other clothes. Oh almost forgot it has to blend in, in the woods. Thanks Buckfever

Buck,

I see this question often posed on other Alaskan hunting boards. Most of the recomendations are for Helly Hanson or Sporthill pants. I myself dont own any of it, so I'm just passing along what others swear by. A little research into this may be needed. If nothing its a start.

Thanks for the info. I have had poor luck with Gore-Tex when you sit on it. The jackets seem to be OK. Buckfever

If anyone wants me to test another rain outfit in Alaska I will. Still looking for a decent rain suit.

I tried two different brands of waterproff pants last fall on a goat hunt. Both pairs failed and I got wet. We were walking through Devils Club and blueberry bushes as well as low spruce. Helly Hansons will keep you dry if you are sitting and inactive. If moving you are going to sweat. After 3-4 days in the rain they will sweat on the inside and you will be damp on the inside.

The best coat I have to date is a rain coat by Predator Camo. I have wore it this springs black bear hunt and it was fine. No heavy rain, but for the light stuff it was fine.
