Stevens Walnut Hill JR 418 to much fun!
« on: August 25, 2006, 03:46:57 PM »
Had a little time free for the range today, was shooting my custom 22 semi auto rifle with cheap Remington brick ammo and making inconsistant groups, a nice fellow gave me a box of Remington green label target ammo to try and it got the group down to 1 Moa. When the rain stoped I got out the Stevens 418 and with the little old weaver G4 that came with it shot 12 out of 15 in the X Ring from 50 yards off a sand bag with the CHEAP ammo. nice 3 shot clover leafs..... Its not me, its the Stevens, none of my other 22s shoot that good. May not be up to the level of compitition shooters, but Great fun, only the second time at the range with the old Stevens .... Got to love a rifle that shots cheap ammo well... Single shot rifle are just more satisfying  to shoot..... ;D

 cheers,
 Otter

My little Stevens 44 Schuetzen rifle will outshoot my Winchester 52B! Love them both, but the Stevens is just a little more fun to shoot! ;)
Ballard, the great American Rifles!
