USING STEEL SHOT IN A BELGIAN. A-5 BARREL????

Would it be unwise to shoot steel shot out of Belgian A-5 16ga. mod. choke barrel?

I know some of you do it, what brand of knife do you reccomend? what type of blade? length? grip type? etc?
