Spotting scope: Bushnell Legend vs. Leupold Wind River
« on: September 01, 2006, 09:13:27 AM »
I want to buy a spooting scope for hunting out west - mostly mule deer, pronghorn and elk. I'm trying to decide between buying Bushnell's Legend 20-60 x 80 or x60, or  a Wind River Sequoia 15-45x60. Prices are pretty close to each other. The Legend has their Rainguard coating as a bonus, but I know Leupold quality is also good. Does anyone here have experience with either or both of these spotters that can give me their opinions? Thanks. :)

I`ve got a 15 x 30 Leupold spotting scope that I love. The optical lense is so much larger than anything else I`ve see. It give the scope a field of view 3 to 4 times that of other scopes of the same power, but it is a Leupold scope and not Wind River. I do have a pair of 8 x 42 Wind River bino`s though and I have never found any other brand that would come close to them for the money.
