How many others are starting to get the itch?
« on: August 28, 2006, 12:40:37 PM »
Been piddling around the garage more lately. Dipped a few traps a couple weeks back when it was hot and have them hanging. Yesterday I started sorting threw a few footholds traps for coon, because I will need them first. I got some of them tuned and  ready to go on the line.
With the weather finnally cooling just a bit there is something different in the morning air that makes me want to move more.  Now that I have the first 30 coon traps looked at I'm starting to get a little of the itch I think. Maybe sorting the other 150-200 coon traps will cool that some???? then theres? I'm not even sure how many coyote and rat traps to look at also.
But I think after not ttrapping much last year,  I,m getting a little goofier earlier this year?????
How is everyone else holding up?

Mark, while I am certainly getting itchy,I am not able to get my traps ready at this time.
I still have several trapping conventions to do,along with producing my beaver lures, making stabilizers, along with snares, sliders, cable stakes and several other products.
Trappers orders are also increasing, and these have to be filled and shipped, before anything else is done.
Once I get ahead of the game, then its time to get my dipping done. This time of year is hectic, but I love it.
So,I do have the itch, just have to wait to scratch it.

I have that itch all year long. Luckily I do occassional ADC trapping so I can get it scratches every now and than. Actually just got back from checking some ADC beaver traps and had a 30 pounder on the end of the drowner. Perfect back foot catch in a 4 coiled #3 bridger. Gotta love it. Worm

Beaver season opened Sept. 1 but they're no where near ready to take.I got 2 more truck loads of dry dirt today just in case I run out of waxed dirt.Going Sharptail and Hun hunting in the morning.Good excuse to look at some drainages for coyote sign.
I love the smell of coyote gland lure early in the morning. It smells like victory!!
