44 sp

I want to load some 44 sp in 200 sthp and 240 and hard cast. I believe that out of a 5.5 Redhawk 950 to 1050 would be ok with 240/cast bullets. I like the 44 sp for a field carry gun (hunting), I also load for 44 mag  for deer and hog hunting using 250 with gc. I have a snubby in 44 sp that I use the 200 STHP in as my carry gun. 2400 seems to be more of a Mag load, so what do you advise?

10 grains of unique, herco, power pistol, or universal clays in 44 mag brass. 7.5 grains of any of the powders listed in special brass Whichever powder shoots the best.

I've got a 7.5 inch barrel Ruger SBH and I like to shoot 44 special loads in it. I use a 240 grain hardcast bullet with 5 grains of Bullseye. Makes a good target load, fun to shoot and will kill a whitetail deer out to about a 50 yard range.

I use 8 grns. of Unique under a 200 grn. XTP in my S&W Mod. 696.  It shoots well, and is what I would call a mid range load.  7 to 7-1/2 grns. might be the ticket for your 240 cast loads.  See what your Redhawk likes.

I carry a S&W 696 all the time. I use my own cast 240 hp with 7.0 grs. Unique. It shoots very tight groups & not much recoil. Haven't played with any jacketed yet because the cast work so well.

I use 240 cast and red dot or bullseye at 5 grains or a little more, very pleasant to shoot effective on small game in my 5" model 29.
