7mm TCU rechamber???
« on: April 12, 2003, 02:16:38 PM »
I've got a friend who wants to do some trading and is throwing in a barrel in the above caliber. I already own one and really don't need another but was wondering if there was enough metal there to rechamber to 7x30 or someother .284 based caliber. What da ya' think???

You could send it to SSK for a 7mm JDJ#2 based on the 307 case.  Graybeard may have written up an article on this cartridge, as I think he was testing one.

I dont know much about it, but I have heard somebody on here say that it isnt much of an improvement unless it is one of the longer barrels.  They were referring to the 10 inch.
....make it count

My 14 inch 7-30 Waters started life as a 7 TCU.  It was already rechambered when I bought it.  I took a chance on it at a gun show.  The price was right.  I have not shot it enough to know if it is a shooter but I really like it so far.
